Miso Soup is a traditional part of Japanese cuisine. Prepare 2-3 tbsp of Miso from hot broth on side to ensure no chunks of Miso are in soup. It is often served as a side for meals, be it breakfast, lunch, or dinner. So it's practically summer* and I've decided to blog about a type of dish to reflect such a season. It's the simplest of ingredients with such great flavor, sweet carrots with the irreplaceable flavor of miso and ginger. I've made Gyudon, Okonomiyaki, Chicken Teriyaki and Miso Soup with her blog as my guide. Yes, there are a lot of carrots involved but carrots are really on the cheap. Back to Miso soup though- when I realized I had all the ingredients at home it became that much more exciting! I've done another, more simple version of this dish before. Stir in Miso, Chives, Celtic Sea Salt, Kelp Granules, Black Pepper, and Tumeric in the very last 2-3 minutes of cooking. I've promised my mom that we'll make sushi this year and I'm running out of time! Miso soup is a favorite amongst Japanese food lovers. I have often wondered about making miso soup at home - it seemed like such a mysterious thing, with it's swirling, curling, cloudy broth. If you want a simple miso soup, check it out.
